Generational Clutter
origin story
When I was a child, my paternal grandmother passed away, and we inherited a lot of furniture and boxes from her house. We started moving, a lot. Boxes followed, were never unpacked, and each childhood move had more stuff and more stress.
Now that I’m an adult, I’ve been fighting to have a different experience with moving and stuff. I’ve made many ‘organizing’ mistakes, and I’ve finally found what works for me. You cannot organize until you let go of what you’re not actually using.
I decided that many of the things I own, that belonged to my grandparents, are more important than buying new things from amazon or big box stores. Some of those items, my grandmother intentionally chose for me. I will keep some items, but also – it is ok to pass along the things I do not need, wont use, or don’t have space for.
Blog Posts
It is 2025, and seems like no one reads blogs anymore, but I will be posting here as a way to document my experience. I think most social media is very noisy and many people will be moving away and ‘rediscovering’ blogs.
Services
My aim is to become a professional organizer. Currently I am documenting my downsizing experience as a 40 year old. I am also working with friends and family to practice, before working with new clients. If you have stumbled upon me and have any questions, I’d be happy to answer them to the best of my abilities. Please send me an email!
